Stones in the Road
I still remember my ninth year of lifeTween Cub Scouts and puberty
My childhood ended so abruptly.
I still remember that there were these

One of these stones was winter white snow
A perfect cube of frozen light
No one around but I to take delight.
With my sneakered foot I kicked it angrily
And sent that icy stone

I still remember when I came to realize
